ABOUT GROUPX Rx

​

At GroupX Rx, we make group training personal. You will be part of a group of no more than four women for a 30-minute training session, and your workout will be tailored to you. Exercises will be focused on core, upper-, and lower-body strength, as well as endurance and balance.

​

After you complete your training session, you will complete 30 minutes of cardio. Cardio exercises include elliptical, treadmill, and rowing.

​

In addition to working out at the studio, you will be able to join other members of the GroupX Rx community for outside activities, including hikes and trips into Boston for fun activity in the city.

MEET THE TEAM

John Passemato

Owner, GroupX Rx | Trainer

 

 

John is a very dedicated and enthusiastic trainer with a strong, influential method of instruction, and he strives to help all clients reach their goals and improve their overall quality of life. He joined GroupX Rx's predecessor, Great 2B Fit, as a personal trainer when it opened in 2011, later being promoted to head trainer, and became responsible for continued program development. John took ownership of the studio in 2020.

​

John graduated from Plymouth State University in 2003 with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Heath. While attending PSU, he developed and managed the FlexRx personal training program. He was also vice president and co-founder of PSU’s first fitness club. 

​

John obtained his Personal Trainer Certification through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA).

Dave Vollor

Trainer

Dave has been working in fitness for four years and has loved building relationships and assisting people on their journey to be better versions of themselves. After deciding on his own to be a vegetarian at the age of eight, incorporating proper nutrition has played a massive factor in his life. His philosophy for fitness/ wellness is that you instantly receive the mental benefits of a good workout and that a positive lifestyle leads us closer to whatever we choose our physical goals to be. It is one of the only investments you can make that betters your life in both the present and the future. Outside of his career, Dave enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports, and participating in personal development to become the best version of himself.

Alana Ogata

Pilates Instructor

Alana Ogata joined GroupX Rx's predecessor, Great 2B Fit in the fall of 2019 as a Pilates instructor. She received her AFAA group fitness certification in 2015 and taught a variety of Pilates and cardio dance classes at the College of William and Mary Rec Center. She has taught at Golds Gym and UC Irvine’s Recreational center.

 

Alana has an enthusiasm for achieving mental/physical balance through exercise and a passion to help individuals become strong, powerful, and confident in their fitness abilities. She loves designing and choreographing routines for dance-based cardio classes since 2015 and expanding choreography to Pilates routines. Top priorities are instructing proper form to avoid injuries, building a rapport with clients, tailoring classes to client feedback, and promoting a fitness mentality around personal strength.

Lisa Link

Zumba Instructor

Lisa Link absolutely loves teaching Zumba classes. The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! She is passionate about helping you achieve your wellness goals with inspiring music and movement through the Zumba Fitness program. 

 

As a full-time web designer and former gymnast, Lisa searched for a fitness routine that could counterbalance hours of sitting at a computer and also make her smile. Then, she found Zumba fitness, "exercise in disguise." She looks forward to sharing the positive energy of Zumba Fitness with you, all levels welcome. 

 

Lisa is licensed to teach Zumba and Zumba Gold®. She previously taught Zumba Fitness at the Beacon Hill Athletic Clubs and sub for colleagues at the YMCA, JCC, and local community centers. She has also performed with the folk dance group "Besamim" for the past five years.
